Traditionally, an educational assessment consists of a detailed representation of a learner’s processing abilities, educational experience, and academic skills. However, taking the time to integrate the results from psychological, language, and cognitive assessments will allow the clinician to develop a more complete picture of a learner. When cross-discipline measures are incorporated into an educational assessment, the process of formulating a set of clinical objectives becomes more robust and more targeted to each learner’s specific needs. This session will present a practical approach for combining the results of various assessments by providing a model, outlining essential steps and goals, and analyzing individual case studies.

Participants will be able to: identify methodologies for combining different assessment types; utilize a systematic approach to develop clinical objectives and measure their efficacy; support effective communication with allied professionals to develop a learner’s support program; and communicate assessment results and outcomes to the learner with non-judgmental vocabulary.
